I've been knitting

I have a lot of fabrics, and for quite some time now I've had this idea about finger knitting. The other day, I decided to sit down and actually try it out. My attempt resulted in this scarf! Big and chunky and made out of scraps fabrics. I like it.

Money, money, money

This is not my strong side, I have to admit. I want to be good at keeping track of receipts, invoices and expenses, and I've promised myself to start this year off with a clean slate.

I sat down yesterday to try to wrap my head around all this money business. Since I haven't been very good at writing down my expenses, I had to backtrack and start putting all my paperwork in chronological order. Then I created a profit and loss schedule in excel and started typing it all in there. I guess it could also be called a register. It was hard work, but it's so worth it to feel like you have things under control, even if your business is at the "hobby" level. take a look at this link if you want to read more about money. This etsy article inspired me to sit down an crunch numbers. Maybe it will do the same for you!

My first photo. Rain cloud. Love.

Ha! My first photo posted to the blog! This is my work. My most recent creation. I just started up a Cloudberry & Moss page on facebook and posted this picture there too. I'm so proud of both the product and the photo. The necklace is made of felted wool, sterling silver and labradorite raindrops. I love the way they send off flashes of blue and green!

I have arrived. It's official - I'm a blogger.

Honestly I have no idea how to do this. I know I want to. I know I have to, but internet communities are somewhat new to me, with the exception of facebook. I am about to start a twitter account too, although I don't even know that it means. All I know is that this is the way to get through, find people who share my interests and a way to channel my creativity and share it.

Welcome to my blog. I'm the owner of the company that shares the name of this blog - Cloudberry & Moss. I make jewelry and objects of function and beauty. There will be photos of my things as well as photos of inspiration. I will write about my struggles and success, my steps along the way to becoming what and where I want to be, as an artist. Mucho love and I hope you'll stick around.
